Great day. No. Went to install gentoo again today, but the quick way, using the gui installer. It decided to be funny and delete my mbr of the drive i was installing to. The drive with about 120gb of games and photos and stuff on it. Booted back to parition magic, drive showed up as blank. Bit of quick googling to be done. Gpart to the rescue, Scans the disk, and see what should be in the mbr. So under gentoo live cd, sudo gpart -W /dev/sda /dev/sda. A few “y”’s later, and the mbr is back. Went back to partition magic. Partitions where there, but not accessible. PM copped something was wrong and fixed it, and yey! all my data was back. Long and short of it, when using the GTK+ installer, don’t let it do any partitioning,it has known issues I subsequently found out. Got all that done then, but grub wasn’t playing ball. It didn’t like that fact I had changed the HD order. A bit of messing around with the ultimate boot cd, and i was back in business.

That was the morning. A few hours ago there was a few joyriders outside. The managed to destroy the car, so I had no problem ringing the Gardaí.Have to say they arrived in under a minute. Little bastards got away though. I really need to move from this area…

Staying up too late lately. Re cabled my computer yesterday, better air flow now hopefully. Also, still re ripping all the CD’s around here into .flac. Yeah, fun ….. indeed.

It’s tuesday. Assingments finshed. All I have left to do is study, and think about what i would like to do for the summer.

Need to get one of my bikes at home fixed up, and Chain reaction cycles just sent me a £10 voucher. Handy.

Who the hell decided to have exams in the summer. It’s so nice outside today, and I’m stuck inside. Have to study

Anyway, going to rip all my cd’s into .flac format tonight, but before that i have to move a few files around.

On a on related topic, I was at the dresden dolls on tuesday. I had no camera with me, so no photos. Was surprised by how good of a gig it was though!
